3 Games with Lots of Potential that were Abandoned

3. Cube World

http://www.game-sphere.fr/wp-content/uploads/Cube-World-Multi.jpg

I had first seen Cube World very recently after it came out. I never got the game but probably would have if it was never abandoned. Cube World cannot even be bought anymore. The last update was in July of 2013. It was very popular for a little while and then the game just died. Very disappointing as it seemed like an interesting and comical RPG. There are rumors another update is being made for this year, but I wouldn't get my hopes up. It was pretty much an RPG version of Minecraft with actual potential. I do not believe there was any building in the game when updates for it ended, but building was planned.

2. The Stomping Land

I never really got to try this game because I discovered it after it had already been abandoned. It was pretty much the ARK: Survival Evolved before there was an ARK: Survival Evolved. According to the official wiki, the game had a Gallimimus, Stygimoloch, Styracosaurus (one of my favorites!), Ankylosaurus, Carnotaurus (one of my favorites!), and Puertasaurus. There was also a Psittacosaurus, Prestosuchus, Austroraptor, Parahelicoprion (one of my favorites!), Quetzalcoatlus (one of my favorites!), Tyrannosaurus Rex, Therizinosaurus (one of my favorites!), and Titanoboa (one of my favorites!) planned. All of the dinosaurs that made it into the game can be tamed and can be used as a mount, except for Puertasaurus. You can still buy the game if you want to, but I think it's a wiser choice to choose ARK as the developer of The Stomping Land abandoned the game and was only doing it for the money. The same person who made the models for some of these has sold them (before anyone says anything, no, he/she is not breaking the law and he/she is allowed to do this) to the creators of another dinosaur game in development (which has a free tech demo!) called The Isle. The Isle's tech demo currently has the Tyrannosaurus Rex, Gallimimus, Puertasaurus(?), and an Austroraptor which you can all play as (along with playing as humans)

1. Spore

http://orig03.deviantart.net/3331/f/2008/176/c/d/spore_creature___moohair_by_tonka09.jpg

Of course my favorite game is mentioned. Spore is the ultimate sandbox game in which you can create the universe of your dreams. That moose-alien thing above was made by a player. You can build amazing creations, especially when you use mods. Honestly, it bugs me very much when people talk about how Minecraft is the "best sandbox game ever"; it's just really annoying when most of those people probably have never tried Spore in which you can do more than you ever can in Minecraft. This is coming from a former player of Minecraft who was a big fan for about 2 years. It's not as good as Spore for letting your imagination go wild. Also, Spore hasn't been entirely abandoned. The last Spore-related news was in February of 2011 and then there was nothing until Februay 2015 in which maintenance returned. I still counted it because the last Spore-related new content stuff was a spin-off game titled Darkspore that was released in 2011.

Zoo Tycoon 2: The Best Official Expansion Packs

4.                                 African Adventure

Meerkats from the expansion pack.
http://www.sztab.com/tapety/galeria/zoo-tycoon-2-african-adventure-3.jpg
African Adventure was the second expansion pack for Zoo Tycoon 2. It added a variety of new animals such as Meerkats, Aardvarks, Bongos, Ethiopian Wolves, Gerenuks, Mandrills, etc. New maps are also added that are based off real places in Africa, like the Sahara Desert. It has some features Endangered Species also includes, like Jeeps. African Adventure's final major feature is that it makes the behavior of several creatures in the game more realistic.

3.                                 Endangered Species

A Koala from the expansion pack.

Endangered Species was the first expansion pack released for Zoo Tycoon 2. Koalas, Fennec Foxes, Crested Gibbons, Komodo Dragons, Orangutans, Wolverines, etc. are all included in the pack as new animals. As I mentioned earlier, this expansion pack does include Jeeps which can take your guests on a tour throughout your zoo. It also includes sky trams and elevated pathways for the same purpose. Endangered Species also adds skin variants to the game, such as White Tigers.

2.                                   Marine Mania

An Orca from the expansion pack.

Marine Mania was the third expansion pack created for Zoo Tycoon 2. This expansion included Orcas, Pacific Walrus, Belugas, Leatherback Sea Turtles, Goblin Sharks, Bottlenose Dolphins, etc. You can also train animals, such as Orcas and Belugas, to perform shows to entertain the guests. Of course, you'll need new aquarium tanks to keep your marine creatures and not a traditional fence.

1.                                  Extinct Animals

An Ankylosaurus, Kentrosaurus, and a Carnotaurus. Note that not one of the creatures shown above's preferred habitat in the game is actually the rainforest. Ankylosaurus and Kentrosaurus like the wetlands and the Carnotaurus likes the boreal forest.

Extinct Animals was the fourth and final expansion pack made for Zoo Tycoon 2. This expansion pack has Ankylosaurus, Kentrosaurus, Carnotaurus, American Mastodon, Deinosuchus, Smilodon, etc. My favorite dinosaur, Spinosaurus, is not included unfortunately... But besides that, the expansion pack is great. You can adopt these extinct creatures or clone them yourself! Some creatures can rampage and escape their exhibit too.

The Ultimate Creature in Impossible Creatures: Creature Chaos

An Electric Eel from unmodded Impossible Creatures.

A Diplodocus from the Creature Chaos Mod.
http://img2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20111016020707/ichive/images/e/e6/Diplodocus.png
In the Creature Chaos mod for Impossible Creatures, you may have been looking for the ultimate combination... Look no further! I have the ultimate hybrid!

Introducing... the Electric Diplodocus!

This is a combination of the Electric Eel from the normal game and the Diplodocus from the Creature Chaos mod. For the most useful unit, give it all Diplodocus parts except for an Electric Eel head and torso. The torso will allow it to swim and the head will allow it to shoot its powerful electricity attack. Ranged attacks get stronger depending on the size of your creature too, so having the great Diplodocus will make the range do much more damage. The Diplodocus tail will also give it pretty good melee damage and the legs give it the ability to go on land.

If you want a prettier appearance that still is pretty useful, use all Diplodocus except the Electric Eel head and tail. It will still have a powerful range and can swim, but it will no longer have a good melee.

Zeela Vordav Review

http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/sporerevolution/images/0/04/Zeela.png/revision/latest?cb=20140128030505

Next is Zeela Vordav, Jercy's love interest. I was originally going to do Holly, but I honestly had trouble thinking of negative and even neutral things about Holly.

Also, Zeela is a mermaid.

GOOD

1. Zeela has a great backstory.
2. She introduced us to an interesting species, the Siranians.

NEUTRAL

1. Her running joke is... okay.

BAD

1. She's a bit... bland.
2. The whole Jercy and Zeela romance feels a bit corny
3. Zeela hasn't really been developed since when we first met her.

MY OVERALL OPINION: Zeela is not a very good character. She had lots of potential to be, but  she isn't.

Kleekoonanoni Review

http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/sporerevolution/images/4/4b/CRE_Kleekoonanoni-116f7429_ful.png/revision/latest?cb=20140410001523

First, I will be reviewing williezk's Kleekoonanoni.

They have come a long way. They have gone from a cell to the hairless and green armhead monkeys we know today. They are loved because of our familiarity with them and the nostalgia but they are also hated because of their weird look.

GOOD

1. Humorous species.
2. Classic Revolution Universe species.
3. Important to the Revolution Universe.
4. Their intentions as a species are understandable.
5. Interesting origins.

NEUTRAL

1. Comical look.

BAD

1. Boring culture that isn't unique.
2. Their society has been almost exactly the same for years now (they haven't even elected a new leader since the CIVILIZATION stage)
3. Not very many notable tragedies have happened to the empire, despite having been enemies with many strong empires (like the Garadreads and Paxos)

MY OVERALL OPINION: A very iconic species in the Revolution Universe that helped make the Revolution Universe what it is today. They are a bit of a generic, boring species to me, but they still deserve to be treated with respect.

National FORM A GROUP Day

http://sporethenextlevel.blogspot.com/2015/07/spore-next-level-4-years-and-counting.html

williezk's Spore series in our Spore universe, which we call the Revolution Universe, has just had it's 4th anniversary, which he likes to call National FORM A GROUP Day (today is also coincidentally the day the first Invader Zim comic book comes out; what a great day)

williezk plans on talking about the fans of his series (starting with me :D), while I plan to talk about some of the characters and species in the series. I'll give him feedback about the different characters and species. By the time it gets to the 5th anniversary, who knows what Spore The Next Level 2 (his series) will be like?

Also random thought I had while writing this... What if williezk decided to kill Jercy and all the Kleekoonanonis on one of STNL's anniversaries? WILLIEZK, IF YOU KILL THEM, KILL THEM ON NATIONAL FORM A GROUP DAY.

Dinosaur Battlegrounds

"That's not actually from Dinosaur Battlegrounds, I just thought it looked cool."
http://mimg.ugo.com/201106/7/5/1/199157/tyrannosaurusrex.jpg

There is a game in development known as Dinosaur Battlegrounds. This game aims to have scientifically accurate dinosaurs (they even have scientists helping them with accuracy). That means we'll have feathered dinosaurs, which is always welcome by me.

I haven't really gotten to the coolest part of this dinosaur game yet, have I? Well, unlike most dinosaur games, you can play as dinosaurs. There is no playing as humans at all. You will try to survive as these dinosaurs. As you can imagine, multiplayer is a big part of the game.
